Maurice Ashley’s work at Automotive High School in Brooklyn caught the eye of the Daily News.

Created by Automotive Principal Caterina Stanczuk and run by chess grandmaster Ashley, the classroom just steps from the school’s main entrance is a constant hub of activity, with students, teachers and support staff all taking any opportunity to grab a match.”
