The annual Queen city classic was held this year at the Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati between March 11 and 12 attracting over 600 kids from as many as ten states. Apart from the children’s competition, the event also included simultaneous displays by GM Maurice Ashley, Gregory Kaidanov and Irina Krush. The children also got the opportunity to witness blindfold chess games between the Grandmasters with Maurice’s commentary.

Established in 2002, the Queen City Classic Chess Tournament is a treasured Cincinnati event that gives children of all backgrounds the opportunity to compete in a chess tournament in an NFL stadium. Drawing students from as many as ten states, the tournament at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio provides a positive, friendly venue for children to apply the skills they have cultivated through their love of chess.
